Dear Student Candidates;
We congratulate you for choosing our faculty within the scope of Intra-Institutional - International Inter-Institutional - Domestic Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer and wish you success in your education and training process. This article, in which the procedures to be carried out before and after the application and student registration acceptance process are explained in detail, has been prepared to inform prospective students;
Lateral Transfer: It is an application that allows a student enrolled in a higher education institution to continue their education in diploma programs at the same level (from undergraduate to graduate).
Equivalent Diploma Program: Defines diploma programs whose department names are the same or which are determined by the relevant administrative boards to have at least eighty percent of the same content.
Intra-Institutional Lateral Transfer: It is the lateral transfer application from undergraduate programs within Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University to any undergraduate program of our faculty. In order for the application to be evaluated in this category; the relevant undergraduate program must have a quota, the candidate must be a registered student in the BAIBU undergraduate program, there must be no disciplinary penalty, the GPA in the hundredth system must be at least 60 and the other conditions in the legislation must be met.
Domestic Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer: It is the lateral transfer application from undergraduate programs of other universities in Turkey to the equivalent diploma programs of our faculty. In order for the application to be evaluated in this category; our relevant undergraduate program must have a quota, the candidate must not be a BAİBÜ student, must be a student enrolled in the undergraduate program of other universities in Turkey, must not have any disciplinary penalties, must have a GPA of at least 60 in the hundredth system and must meet other conditions in the legislation.
 
Lateral Transfer Between Institutions Abroad: It is the lateral transfer application from undergraduate programs of other universities abroad recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) to the equivalent diploma programs of our faculty. In order for the application to be evaluated in this category; our relevant undergraduate program must have a quota, the candidate must not be a BAİBÜ student, must be a student enrolled in the undergraduate program of other universities abroad recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), must not have disciplinary penalties, must have a GPA of at least 60 in the hundredth system and must meet other conditions in the legislation.

     a) UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

In the Science Programs of our faculty; Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; In the Literature Programs, History, Turkish Language and Literature, Sociology, Psychology Departments continue their educational activities. It is planned to admit students to the Department of English Language and Literature as of the fall semester of the 2024-2025 academic year.
In addition to the first (day) education programs, there are also second (evening) education programs in the Departments of History, Sociology, Turkish Language and Literature.
The language of instruction in the Departments of Sociology, History, Turkish Language and Literature is 100% Turkish.
The language of instruction in the Departments of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics is 100% English, and 30% English in the Department of Psychology. The candidate who will apply for inter-institutional lateral transfer to these departments, whose medium of instruction is partially or fully in English, must document that he / she has successfully completed the English preparatory class education at the university where he / she is enrolled. The application of the candidate who did not take English preparatory class education, could not complete it successfully, and could not document his/her situation will be deemed invalid.
    
    b) DETERMINATION OF QUOTAS
Intra-institutional and inter-institutional lateral transfer quotas are determined by the decision of the University Senate in line with the proposal of the Department Head and the proposal of the Faculty Board, and the quota for domestic inter-institutional lateral transfer is determined by the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education upon the proposal of the Department Head, the Faculty Board and the proposal of the University Senate. * In accordance with the decision of the Executive Board of Higher Education dated 25/08/2023; Students of Turkish nationality enrolled in the programs of Middle East Technical University, Istanbul Technical University and Ankara Social Sciences University in TRNC campuses are required to apply to domestic inter-institutional lateral transfer quotas for transfer to higher education institutions in Turkey.
* In accordance with the decision of the Executive Board of Higher Education dated 05/06/2024; Course equivalency and grade transfer will not be made for students enrolled in a program that is recognized by YÖK but does not meet the international ranking requirement in YKS guides from a higher education institution abroad, within the scope of student admission quotas from abroad to a program in our country where success ranking is required. 
 
    c) ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESSES
Year 2024 Inter-Institutional - International Inter-Institutional - Domestic Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer applications will be made online over the university information management system platform between the dates announced in the academic calendar. Please CLICK the link to access the e-application system. Applications sent via mail, e-mail, cargo, fax will not be processed. Student candidates who will apply online within the announced deadlines are obliged to define their identity, contact, education data and the documents written below to our information system in a complete, approved and authentic manner. Applications cannot be made after the application period is completed and documents cannot be added to the application file.

9-  Preparatory Class Status Certificate  It is mandatory for applications to be made within the scope of international and domestic inter-institutional transfer. [For those who apply to our departments with English preparatory class] (Wet signed or e-certified if not specified in other documents)
10-  Language Proficiency Certificate  It is compulsory for applications to programs where foreign language preparatory class is compulsory within the scope of intra-institutional, domestic or international inter-institutional transfer. (Wet signed or e-certified if not specified in other documents) *The application of candidates without a language proficiency certificate is not accepted.
       
    ç) APPLICATION REVIEW and EVALUATION PROCEDURES
The applications submitted by the candidates through the online system are examined and evaluated within the framework of the provisions specified in the “Regulation on the Principles of Transferring Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions” and “Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Lateral Transfer Directive” and “YÖK Principles for Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer Abroad”.
Document-Data Review and Preliminary Evaluation Process:
During the document-data review and preliminary evaluation phase carried out by our department commissions, the following procedures are carried out respectively; 
a) The applications of candidates who have incomplete data and documents defined in the system, unverifiable e-documents, unapproved documents, inconsistencies between data and documents, and who cannot meet the minimum GPA and central placement score specified in the relevant legislation are rejected, and the rejection justification created by referring to the relevant article of the legislation is recorded in the UBYS Application Management module,
b) Candidates whose applications are approved are ranked according to the evaluation score obtained by adding eighty percent (80%) of the placement score obtained from ÖSYS / YKS in the placement score type of the diploma program to which they applied in the year they enrolled in the diploma program in which they were enrolled with a grade point average of 100, (Evaluation Score = 100 grade point average + ÖSYS / YKS Score x 0.8). In case of equality of the evaluation score, the one with the higher ÖSYS / YKS score is given priority, the data is defined and saved in the UBYS Application Management module,
c) The information of the candidates who are entitled to be placed in the main and substitute quota, who are not eligible and whose applications are deemed invalid are categorized according to the application type-department-degree-program-semester, processed in MS Excel file, connected to the commission minutes, transcribed, wet signatures are completed, and hand delivered to the faculty document registration unit,
 
Determination and Announcement of Final Evaluation Results:
During the final evaluation and announcement of the results by the Faculty Executive Board, the following procedures are carried out respectively; 
a) In the event that incomplete or incorrect transactions are detected in the preliminary examination-evaluation results, the necessary correction-regulation is made,
b) Lateral Transfer evaluation results are finalized and decided by the board,
c) Announced in the UBYS application management module and on the faculty website.

    d) STUDENT ENROLLMENT
The registration-acceptance procedures of the student candidates who are entitled to be placed in our undergraduate programs within the scope of Intracorporate - Foreign Interinstitutional - Domestic Interinstitutional Lateral Transfer will be held in our faculty. 
  • Before applying for enrollment, the application form must be filled out on the computer and the required documents must be taken.
  • The student who will be present during the application must submit the requested documents to the registration officer for checking. In cases where the student cannot be present, the registration application made by his/her proxy with a notarized power of attorney is processed.
  • Original copies or photocopies of other documents other than the application petition will not be submitted.
  • Registration applications via mail, cargo, fax and other means of communication will not be processed.
  • Candidates who do not register on the dates announced below cannot claim any rights.
  • The substitute candidate is registered instead of the original candidate who fails to register within the periods specified in the calendar.
  • Registration will not be made if any of the following documents cannot be submitted.

    e) DEREGISTRATION OF STUDENTS ENROLLED IN OUR PROGRAMS FROM OTHER UNIVERSITIES
The process of deregistration of students enrolled in our undergraduate programs from their previous higher education institutions will be initiated after the end of the student registration-admission dates. The student will not apply to our university and the other university for this process.
The list containing the information of the students whose enrollment is accepted is then attached to the official letter of our faculty and sent to the relevant universities via electronic correspondence. The relevant university performs the student's deregistration process, transfers the data to the YÖKSİS database, and does not send any files or documents belonging to the student.
                                                                                                                                                                            
    f) CREDIT AND NOTE TRANSFER (Course Equivalency and Grade Adjustment)
The study process regarding course equivalencies and grade adjustments within the scope of Intra-Institutional - International Inter-Institutional - Domestic Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer will be initiated after the student's registration-admission process. Students will not apply separately for these procedures.
The evaluations are made by our relevant department commissions within the framework of the provisions specified in the “Regulation on the Principles of Transferring Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-institutional Credit Transfer” and “Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education Regulations” and “Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University Lateral Transfer Directive”.
Based on the language of instruction, content, national and international credit value of the equivalent course in our curriculum with the course that the student has been successful in the previous higher education institution, the course equivalence and the success points of these courses are converted into the BAİBÜ scoring system and the grade adjustment is carried out. Preliminary evaluations are proposed to the Dean's Office with the minutes of the relevant department commission, and the final results are confirmed with the decision of the Faculty Executive Board. The course and grade taken for credit and grade transfer are defined in the automation system by the faculty student affairs coordinatorship before the course registration process begins in order to be reflected on the student's transcript. 
    g) DOCUMENT REQUESTS and INFORMATION
 
    ğ) TUITION FEE
Students enrolled in the first (day) education program do not pay tuition fees or contributions. Students enrolled in the second (evening) education program, students enrolled in the formal or open education programs of higher education institutions, students enrolled in the first education program of our departments within the scope of the second university, first education program students who cannot complete the undergraduate education period in eight semesters will be able to register for courses after depositing their tuition fees by declaring their student number consisting of nine digits to any branch of İşBank in the country before registering for courses. The tuition fee to be paid by the students can be seen on the course registration screen and is defined as a debt on the student numbers in the bank database.
 
    h) COURSE REGISTRATIONS
Students enrolled in the university are obliged to pre-register for their courses through the university information management system and send them for the advisor approval within the course registration period announced in the academic calendar, starting from the semester in which they are enrolled and until they graduate, after paying the contribution fee / tuition fee at the beginning of each semester. Previous semester courses that are not included in credit and grade transfer should be given priority for registration.
 
    ı) DORMITORY PROCEDURES AND HOUSING
  •  * There is no student dormitory belonging to our university.
