2023-2024 Academic Year Spring Semester Odd-Even Exams
General Information;
Odd-Double Exam: The additional exams that can be taken from a maximum of two courses are called the odd-even exam, which are opened so that the student who cannot graduate due to failing one of the "FD / FF / E" grades among the courses within the framework of the undergraduate program curriculum and optional pedagogical formation he has completed, and (or) failing to graduate due to his cumulative grade point average being below 2.00 even though he is successful in all of his courses, does not have to extend the education semester.
[ Spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year odd-even exams will be held face-to-face. ]
a) Odd-even exams are held on the day, time and place recommended by the faculty member appointed as the examiner and approved by the Department Chair, within the dates announced in the academic calendar of the fall and spring semesters, in a way that does not prevent the student and the faculty member from participating in other odd-even exams.
b) Regardless of the semester in the curriculum of the odd-even exam course, the exam is held in the academic semester for which the application is made. (The odd-even exam of a course in the fall semester of the curriculum can be held in the spring semester, as well as the odd-even exam of the spring semester course can be held in the fall semester.)
c) Odd-even exams are not held for the courses for which the course registration has not been made, the attendance requirement has not been fulfilled, and the courses (Seminar - Graduation Project - Graduation Study - Research Project - Grudation Project - Teaching Practice, etc.) evaluated in line with the studies carried out during the semester without being subject to any exam.
d) The examiners of our undergraduate courses are determined by our Department Chairs from among the faculty members who have the competence and expertise of the course area, and the examiners of the pedagogical formation courses are determined by the Faculty of Education.
e) Students who cannot attend the scheduled exam or fulfill their exam obligations will not be given a make-up exam except for the odd-even exam periods specified in the academic calendar.
f)The exams of our undergraduate program courses are held in the classrooms of our faculty on the day/time/hall written in the application form under the supervision and supervision of our responsible faculty members, and the exams of the pedagogical formation courses are held in the Faculty of Education building and in the calendar announced on the website. As a result of the odd-even exam, the success evaluation score in the range of 0 to 100, which is appreciated by the student, is recorded on the UBYS portal by the instructor in charge of the exam.
g) The grade awarded to the student as a result of the odd-even exam is a final grade that replaces the final grade. (For example, a grade of "DD" is defined on the transcript of a student who scores "55" as a result of the odd-even exam.)
h) A student who cannot gain graduate status due to failing the exam can take the odd-even exam in the next academic semester(s) without paying course registration and tuition fees, provided that it is limited to the maximum education period and makes an application.
ı) A student who fails the odd-even exam of the spring semester cannot take courses from the following summer education.
Single Pair Exam Application Requirements;
In order for the student to participate in the odd-even exam, he / she must meet the following conditions;
1) To be in the status of a student in the last semester with graduation potential,
2) To be enrolled in all undergraduate program courses in the curriculum consisting of 240/242 ECTS,
3) To be enrolled in all optional pedagogical formation courses (9 courses / 40 ECTS) or not to be registered in the formation program,
4) Absence of absence grade (DZ/NA) in the undergraduate program and, if registered, in the courses in which the pedagogical formation is registered, (The odd-even exam of the course in which the attendance condition is fulfilled by registering in the lower semester education and the last grade of which is absent is performed.)
5) To have a minimum of one and a maximum of two failed courses from the undergraduate program and pedagogical formation courses, if registered, and (or) to have a GPA below 2.00 even though they are successful in all of the courses,
6) It is subject to the condition that he/she makes a written application to the relevant Department Head within the dates announced on our website (below) and that the right to an odd-even exam is granted.
If one of the conditions is not suitable, the odd-even exam cannot be taken.
Single Pair Exam Application Process;
Applications of students who meet the requirements in the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year and whose final grades of all the courses they are enrolled in are reflected in their transcripts will be accepted by hand delivery within the dates and times announced below. Follow the steps below for the application process;
a) Fill in the boxes marked with a blue background highlight in the computer environment in accordance with the guide information note, take the transcript from the printer, sign the area reserved for you, (DOWNLOAD to access the form. )
b) Request an e-signed transcript document from UBYS, get a transcript of your current transcript approved with a secure electronic signature and attach it to your application form,
c) Contact your advisor for the examination and evaluation of your conditions of participation in the exam, and ask for his wet signed approval,
d) Contact the Head of the Department to determine the instructor in charge of the examiner, ask for wet signed approval,
e) In order to determine the exam date, time and place of your undergraduate program courses, please contact your examiner and ask for his wet signed approval, (*The exam schedule of formation courses is published on the website of the Faculty of Education.)
f) Hand it over to the document registration unit of our faculty.
The responsibility for the execution and follow-up of the application process written above is the responsibility of the applicant student. Students who do not apply within the specified periods will not be able to participate in the odd-even exam.
Procedure Protocol to be Carried Out by Our Administrative Units and Faculty Members Before the Exams;
- [Responsible Unit: Faculty Document Registration] Student application forms are classified on the basis of departments and sent to the relevant Department Chair via UBYS.
- [Responsible Unit: Faculty Student Affairs Coordinator] The courses for which the exam will be held, the examiners, the data of the participating students are defined on the UBYS portal.
- [Responsible Unit: Department Heads] The forms are attached to the letter and assigned to the faculty members who are determined as the examiners.
- [Responsible Person: Examiner Faculty Member] Exams are held face-to-face under the supervision and supervision of the responsible faculty member, on the day, time, and hall written in the program.
- [Responsible Person: Examiner Faculty Member] It evaluates the exam documents of the student participating in the exam in the range of 0 to 100 points, defines the grade to UBYS, leaves the grade field of the student who does not participate blank and announces the results. Procedure Protocol to be Carried Out by Administrative Units After the Exams;
- [Responsible Unit: Faculty Student Affairs Coordinator / Dean's Office Administrative Units] Processes are carried out to identify, list, propose and finalize the students who have successfully completed the exam process and are entitled to receive a diploma. After the period determined for the odd-even exam grade entries of the active education semester is completed, the list of graduate candidates is taken from the UBYS database, finalized by the decision of the Faculty Administrative Board and forwarded to the BAIBU Student Affairs Department.
- [Responsible Unit: Faculty Student Affairs Coordinator / Dean's Office Administrative Units] The odd-even exam of the student who is found to be unable to meet any of the participation conditions is deemed invalid and his grade is canceled.
- [Responsible Unit: BAIBU Student Affairs Department] Processes are carried out regarding the issuance, printing, approval with secure electronic signature, delivery of diplomas and initiation of the student's departure procedures.
- [Responsible Unit: Faculty Representation / Student Affairs DB / Health, Culture and Sports DB / Library and Documentation DB] Evaluation and e-approval stages are carried out for the departure process. Information about this transaction flow carried out through UBYS is sent to the student's corporate e-mail address as a system message. In addition, it can be monitored from the student's UBYS application. (UMYS / STUDENT SYSTEM / Student Information Screen / Other / History Information)
- The departure of a student who has not met his financial, economic, financial and legal obligations towards our institution is not approved. (Those who owe tuition fees, those who do not return the books/documents/materials borrowed from our institution, etc.)
- [Responsible Unit: BAIBU Student Affairs Department] Students who do not have any problems in the departure process are dismissed from our university, the graduation date is defined in UBYS, and the information is transferred to the YÖKSİS database. Thus, the graduation certificate can be queried/produced/used from e-government.
- [Responsible Unit: BAIBU Student Affairs Department] Diplomas, on the other hand, are given free of charge within one month at the latest, starting from the date of graduation. The student does not need to take any action before and after the presentation process. In its presentation; It is sufficient for the student or his/her notarized representative to be present at the graduation unit of the BAIBU Student Affairs Department, and to declare the identity card/citizenship identity card.
