Prof. Dr. Ekrem Gürel Received Faculty Staff in His Office

Prof. Dr. Ekrem Gürel, Dean of our Faculty and newly appointed Rector of Iğdır University by Presidential decree, welcomed the administrative, technical, and support staff of our faculty in his office.
 

A Farewell Marked by Gratitude and Loyalty

During this meaningful visit held in the Dean’s office, Prof. Dr. Gürel began his speech by expressing his gratitude to the President of the Republic, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, for entrusting him with the rectorship of Iğdır University. He stated that although it was within the scope of his duty, it was very difficult for him to part from our faculty and university, which he has considered his family and has served as an academic for over thirty years.

Prof. Dr. Gürel thanked all the personnel he worked with during his four and a half years as Dean for their contributions, and expressed his heartfelt satisfaction with each of them. He kindly asked for their blessings and prayers.

Emphasizing that he always tried to maintain a management approach based on justice, merit, courtesy, and collective wisdom during his term, Prof. Dr. Gürel noted that there are many ways to speak as a leader, but the words spoken with human dignity are the most valuable. He stated that what truly matters is not only doing things correctly and thoroughly, but also performing duties wholeheartedly. Highlighting the importance of disciplined and determined work, he added that winning people over is a precious craft that requires effort, and can only be achieved through mutual trust and respect.

As we bid farewell to our esteemed professor, who has made invaluable contributions to the development of our faculty and left behind a legacy of many years and beautiful memories, we sincerely express the deep sadness we feel at his departure. However, we also know that this is not a goodbye, but a dignified expression of hope for reunion.

As the Faculty of Arts and Sciences family, we wish our esteemed professor great success in his new role. We hope his journey will be fruitful and blessed. We wholeheartedly reaffirm that our door and heart will always remain open, and we long for the day we will meet again.
